Brown Sugar

Homemade brown sugar? The ingredients are simple-- sugar and molasses. You may very well have these items in your pantry. Brown sugar is very easy to make, convenient and economical. If you know how to make it, you can avoid having to make a trip to the grocery store when a recipe calls for it and it's not on your pantry shelf. Read on to learn how to make brown sugar.
Step 1
Get a mixing bowl and a fork or an electric hand mixer. Set aside.
Step 2
Measure 1 cup sugar and place in the mixing bowl.
Step 3
Add 1 tbsp. molasses into the mixing bowl with the sugar.
Step 4
Use a fork or an electric hand mixer (at medium speed) to mix the sugar and molasses until thoroughly blended.
Step 5
Scrape the sides of the bowl with a spatula, and then continue to mix until the sugar and molasses are well mixed.
Step 6
Add an additional 1 tbsp. molasses to the mixture, if you prefer a darker shade of brown sugar, and continue to mix until well blended.
Step 7
Enjoy your homemade brown sugar right from your kitchen.

I Can Do It

We can meet the challenge of our Relief Society Presidency, by having a health food supply by this October. She has asked that we use only our food storage in prepareing meals for a week or two during this month. It will be up to our own family needs how long. Check out the "How to get started" and past blogs for help. Lets work together, call or e-mail me with any questions.
